Today we are Australia’s leading recycler for all types of tyres, turning scrap tyres into rubber crumb and alternate fuel for use in innovative products. Tyrecycle are at the forefront of tyre recycling and re-use of rubber products and we believe that everyone needs to be smarter about how they use the Earth’s limited resources and as a result, Tyrecycle processes over 120,000 tonnes of waste tyres, OTR tyres and conveyor belts annually.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician to be based at our Head Office in Somerton.  Reporting to the Maintenance Team leader, the role will focus on the electrical maintenance of the waste tyre shredding and crumbing plant equipment. You will be responsible for providing high quality electrical maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on proactive/preventative maintenance, to achieve satisfactory production levels.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completing all electrical maintenance, inspection and repair tasks on all plant and equipment.
  • Conducting electrical breakdown repairs through prioritising and carrying out repairs in a safe manner.
  • Assessing and prioritising breakdown service requirements.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with plant and machinery that may be mechanical or electrical in nature.
  • Testing and tagging electrical equipment.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance to plant and equipment within the facility.
  • Continuously reviewing and investigating ways of improving the maintenance systems and practices on site to reduce cost and improve value.
  • Working with suppliers to ensure adequate spare parts are kept on site
  • Occasional call out for after hours maintenance due to the 24/7 operation of plant and equipment.
  • Perform duties of a Maintenance Technician when required and other duties as per business requirements

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
  • A trade qualified electrical license (A Class Electrical Licence)
  • A proactive commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others
  • The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with maintenance and repair
  • Possess a good mechanical aptitude and technical capability
  • Excellent work ethic

Desirable

  • Forklift/EWP/High Risk licence
